The practice of contemplation can be difficult in these days of 24/7 news and digital distractions.
In the book, ‘Into the Silent Land’, by Martin Laird, the opening line states, “We are built for contemplation”. Laird goes on to explain that the skills necessary for this “subtlest, simplest and most searching of the spiritual arts” are often most elusive.
The retreat will focus on some of the practices outlined in Laird’s book and will incorporate plenty of opportunities to enter into your own silent land and learn more of the art of contemplation.
