This inaugural 2-day Adelaide Colloquium will take place on the very site where the fledgling Josephite Congregation took root and grew exponentially through the tumultuous 1870s.

While this is an opportunity to learn about, and be touched by, the life and legacy of Mary MacKillop and the early Josephite Sisters, it is also an opportunity for people who work and minister in the Josephite Tradition today to explore and share the stirrings in their own hearts and lives, and support one another as they respond to their call in our world of today.

The challenges facing Mary and the early Josephites of the late 1800s are as relevant today as they were in their time. Like those pioneering women, we too are called to reach out to those on the margins, to empower others, especially those who are vulnerable, and to do all we can to make our small part of the world a more equal, more loving and more peaceful place.

The Colloquium includes:
•  Input sessions
•  Storytelling
•  Periods of reflection and conversation
•  Lunches and other snacks provided

Options:

  • Visit the Mary Mackillop Museum
  • Do the local Mary MacKillop Walk

* The word ‘Colloquium’ (kuh·low·kwee·uhm) comes from the Latin word meaning ‘Conversation’.
