A day of reflection and dialogue, exploring the spirituality of walking pilgrimage
“And what does the Eternal require of you but to do justice and to love kindness and to walk humbly with your God?” (Micah 6:8).
People are drawn to pilgrimage for all kinds of reasons: a desire for simplicity, health and wellbeing, space to weigh up life’s bigger questions, a season of grief, a milestone worth marking, or a decision that’s asking to be made. Walking a pilgrimage is deeply personal — it opens you to the possibility of change, and it has the power to connect you to something greater than yourself. Walking your way is possible not only on a Camino in Europe, but right here, wherever you are.
If you’ve been:
- Questioning where you’re headed, and why the path feels unclear
- Wondering what it might mean to walk through life’s questions rather than around them
- Looking for God walking with you in ordinary, everyday moments
- Desiring to step back, even for a day, to bring you closer to clarity and to God
- Seeking to bring the lessons of the Camino into your everyday life
This reflection day is for you.
The Way is a day for pilgrims, for those curious about pilgrimage, and for anyone wanting space to sit with life’s deeper questions. Through silence, prayer, lectio divina, visio divina, music and spiritual conversation — and, weather permitting, a short walk together — you will:
- Slow down and step outside the noise of everyday life
- Reflect honestly on where change is already stirring in you
- Practice contemplative tools — stillness, sacred reading, sacred looking — that pilgrims have relied on for centuries
- Discover that the path to God, and to change, doesn’t require a plane ticket to Spain — it can begin wherever you’re standing
What you’ll come away with:
- Hands-on experience of contemplative pilgrim practices — silence, lectio divina, visio divina and spiritual conversation
- A felt sense that pilgrimage — and encountering God — is possible wherever you are
- Renewed perspective on a decision, season or change you’re facing
- Time and space, away from routine, to simply be present
- Connection with others also seeking to walk their own way through change
