Sundown sessions for ‘adulting’ in the busyness of life.

1 Timothy 4:12: “Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity.”

Being an adult can feel like a full-time job on its own — work, relationships, rent, the news, everything at once. Spirituality can end up somewhere near the bottom of the list, if it makes the list at all.

Sunset Spirituality is a twilight event series on spirituality in the busyness of ‘adulting’ — real conversation, real input, and space to reconnect life and faith, without needing to have it all figured out.

If you’ve been asking:

  • How do I fit faith into a life that already feels full?
  • Is spirituality just for church, or does it actually show up in daily life?
  • What does growing in faith actually look like at this age and stage?
  • Where do I even start?
  • Could a couple of hours with other young adults help me find my footing?

This night is for you.

Guided by Claire Thomas, the evening includes a keynote input, group discussion and a panel conversation — helping you:

  • Reconnect life and spirituality, without needing separate boxes for each
  • Hear from others navigating the same busy, in-between stage of life
  • Walk away with practical spirituality tools you can actually use day to day

What you’ll come away with:

  • A stronger sense of how life and spirituality connect, rather than compete
  • Practical spirituality tools for everyday life
  • Connection with other young adults navigating the same season
  • A first taste of what’s ahead — this is the first of three planned events

Your facilitator:

Claire Thomas is a former teacher, director of mission and currently, leader in a social and ecological change organisation on Darug Lands, Western Sydney.
As a teenager and young adult, was a volunteer in Catholic parish, school, social justice, youth and young adult ministry contexts.
Throughout Claire’s vocation as youth leader, teacher, director, wife and mother she has a passionate commitment to being in solidarity with one another; seeking God in all things, so that love and justice may flourish, wherever we work, study and worship.
Claire is deeply inspired by Mary MacKilliop’s vision of responding to the needs of her time, with humility and trust in her sisters, community and God.

This retreat is perfect for:

Young adults wanting to reconnect life and spirituality amid a busy season — from just dipping your toes in, to fully immersed in faith. Suited to those who are religious and spiritual, moderately religious and spiritual, or spiritual but not religious.
