Think of Mary and learn from her to be a gift of love and compassion: for one another, for all Australians and for the World.
Pope John Paul II (11 January 1995)
It’s 30 years since these words were spoken in Sydney at the time of Mary MacKillop’s Beatification.
Come to Kensington on the day after the anniversary of her death:
- Spend a day on the land where Mary lived for 11 years
- Feel her presence here
- Walk in the garden where she walked
- Spend time in the chapel where she prayed
Find answers to ‘Mary FAQs’:
- Why was she excommunicated in 1871 and banished from Kensington and South Australia in 1883?
How did she respond at these times? - What can we learn from her, so that we too can be a gift for others as we share her legacy in our small part of the world?
This day will be informative, gentle and reflective, is suitable for all adults and has CESA approval as a SAM.
