St Joseph’s by the Sea in Williamstown hosts a series of reflection days facilitated by Peter Hay focused on ecological spirituality. These gatherings explore themes such as the awakening universe, the connection between Earth and spirituality, and the wisdom found in nature.
At the Heart of Matter is the Heart of God – exploring the spirituality insights of Teilhard de Chardin
Reflection day aims to explore insights using Pierre Teilhard de Chardin:
• an understanding of matter as sacred, a unity of spirit and matter.
• an evolutionary sense of God.
• a growing awareness of the noosphere (the planetary mind), as speaking of a moving towards the more, a moving towards an ever increasing ‘intense beauty,’ God.
Content:
• An awakening universe
• The universe unfolds in God, who fills it completely – Laudato Si
• The mystery of the incarnation
• Love’s redemptive work – an understanding of suffering
• Universal law of gravity – the power of attraction
• The noosphere – the planetary mind
Process will include:
• Contemplative reading and listening
• Sharing of insights and wisdom – communal reflection
• Artistic reflection
• Ritual and liturgy
• Artistic expression
