St Joseph’s by the Sea in Williamstown hosts a series of reflection days facilitated by Peter Hay focused on ecological spirituality. These gatherings explore themes such as the awakening universe, the connection between Earth and spirituality, and the wisdom found in nature.

A Council Of All Beings

Reflection day aims:
• To critique the human impact on our planet.
• To engage through a simulation experience in a deeper understanding of life from the perspective of the natural community of life and being.

Content:
• To research and present the story of a chosen earth being, animal, plant, landform or geographical feature.
• To hear from a rich diversity of life forms and to imagine the impact of humanity on their survival.
• To engage in deep reflection on the inter-relationships and value of all life forms for the well being of life flourishing on earth.

Process will include:
• To engage in the simulation experience of the Council of All Beings.
• Communal reflection – the sharing of insights and personal wisdom.
• Creative expression.
• Ritual and liturgical celebration/reflection.

About the Facilitator, Peter Hay

Peter Hay is a passionate explorer of ecological spirituality as a way of bringing us into a more authentic way of living in these critical times. He is a spiritual director, professional supervisor and a lecturer at Heart of Life.
